How can i tell the difference between an iTouch and an iPhone?

If someone is holding one, how can you tell if it'an iPhone or an iTouch he's listening to music with? I know it has more icons. But what if the screen is left out blank. Power saving mode they call it i think. Then how could you tell just by looking at the device and not what's on the screen.

2. They are very similar, however there are 5 key differences. 1. Thickness: The iPhone is thicker than the iTouch. 2. Bezel: the ring around the outside of the screen is silver on the iPhone, and black on the iTouch. 3. Backing: The iTouch has a shiny silver steel backing, while the iPhone has a matte silver aluminum backing. 4. The iPhone is more narrow than the iTouch. 5. There is a visible camera lens on the back of the iPhone. 6. If you can see the screen, there should be a carrier name at the top. On the iTouch, it would say iPod.
