How long does it take to update to push your contacts from mobile me to iphone 3g?

Please help, it erases all of your contacts on your iphone 3g when you set it up and i was wondering how long it would take to replace them

1. This depends of course on how many contacts you have, and more importantly, whether the MobileMe server is still choking from the overload. On the first day, I was having a lot of trouble as well, and eventually just decided to leave it running on "automatic" frequency. Sure enough, I woke up the next morning and everything was synced up nicely. Since then, it happens in the background and I don't really even notice it. Be patient. It will all get better I'm sure.
